Gold Coast Environment

When we think of the Gold Coast we often just think of long expansive beaches and high rise buildings. Yes, they do exist and it is typical of the area along the immediate coast. If you drive a few kilomtres inland you will discover an area of great beauty with National Parks and scenic areas.


The Gold Coast contains some of the last areas of lowland rain forest and one of the largest sub tropical rainforests in the world. We sometimes call the hinterland area the "green behind the gold".
